November 20 The bandsThursday was Nick's first band concert with his clarinet. I was excited. Amber and I went to the middle school to see him play. about 1/3 of the band had solos or duets and 2 differnet groups played together in 6 or less people groups. Nick played Amazing Grace from memory (I think my dad taught him that one). Then Friday night Bobby and I got a babysitter and went to The Second Story Repertory at the Redmond Town Center and watched Cole Porter's Anything Goes. My mom plays Tenor Saxaphone and Clarinet and my dad playsTenor and Baritone Saxaphone in this group. It was a small group, but boy they sounded big. It was so professional!! I loved it. November 01 Amber origianlly wanted to be Stephanie from Lazy Town (a show on tv), but we bought costumes late this year, so they were out of it. Amber decided to be Barbie Rock Star instead. Nick picked The Gate Keeper and Bobby was a Zombie (again, but that costume is really good. Amber was scared of it, so Bobby couldn't wear the mask). I threw on Bobby's leather Rams jacket and a Rams hat and put some black on my cheeks like the baseball players do and that was my costume. (I didn't really feel like dressing up this year.) We went to the same places we wnet last year. It was fun and the kids had a blast. We made the kids take off their shirts and then we all dug into the pumpkins. Even Amber dug into her pumpkin. Nick carved a skeleton, Amber chose a pumpkin design for Bobby to carve, and I carved a witch and a spirit. We did them only days before Halloween which is really late for us. |
