    A Long Overdue Update

We have settled into our home and are adjusting to Missouri.  Our land lord just had new windows installed. The screens are ordered and on their way.  The have many projects lined up for this place and as long as we take care of the home and pay rent on time they will continue to improve on the place. (Hmm, sounds familiar, lol.)

I found a second job driving taxi and the first week and weekend I drive was the worst they had on record in years even though it was a payday weekend. (We live off of a military base and time lines here go by when the military get paid.)  I am going out job hunting again next week. I really want to get ahead of my bills. To everyone who has suporrted us through financial means, help, blessings, and prayers, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Even just listening has helped.

Nick has been enjoying the freedom of being a teenager who is doing well. Shh, don't tell him how oober well he is doing, lol. Teens don't like that. He is getting decent grades, helps infinitely around the house, and helps with his sister even if it is grudgingly. We are talking about having him go the bigger school for highschool because we found out the small school we picked does not have Jr ROTC or football.  Nick is talking of a military career after highschool. He has lots of friends and has been able to go out on several ocassions on group activities.

Amber is doing in well school, also. Her vocabulary is on a middle school level. Her reading and comprehension is on a 4th grade level. She is doing 3rd grade language arts. Her weakest subject is math, but she is on a second grade level for that, so I am not complaining.  They don't normally test Kindergarteners for the gifted program, but they insist that she is well prepared for it. She is enjoying going to full day kindergarten on a daily basis. She is a beautiful, well adjusted, social girl.

We all miss Washington very much, especially on days like these when the weather is so nice and mild.  We can't help but to be home sick, but we are building a great life for ourselves. Slowly, but consistently, we are working to make ourselves happy and healthy.

A friend sent this in an email and all I could think was, this is what you get when you seem to have every other instrument, lol.  Now who does that sound like?
