    The Invisible Worker

GHK0527~Good-Housekeeping-May-1927-Posters At the prodding of some very demanding bloggers, I have decided to write about the invisible worker.  An invisible worker you ask?  Thank you.  Yes.  There is many of these unsung heroes.  They are parents.  But to be more specific, (because even interesting blogs that are too long are just skimmed) I am talking about stay at home moms.  Why because a person is home, do people believe that they have nothing to do.  I spend my days preparing projects for my daughter and play dates.  Setting up homework time for my son.  I have to take my son to school and back because he has two huge instruments.  I take my daughter to and from school because my husband works a swing shift and needs sleep too.  I do breakfast , lunches, and dinners, you know, I run a gourmet kitchen at times.  I have to clean up the toys, the clothes, the dishes, the trash, pets to the vet, doctor appointments, counseling appointments and this is while the kids are not even in extra curricular activities.  Wednesday nights are Lessons, Sundays are lunch with the grandparents and lessons.  The list goes on and on.  But what I see from community and working parents is, you are home, so what have you really accomplished?  Oh, I don't know, just make everyone else's life run easier.  The invisible worker.  So if we say we are tired, or forgot, perhaps it is not because we are thoughtless, but we had a few more things on our plates that week.  Perhaps there were cupcakes that had to baked for the school bazaar or a special show and tell to set up for the pre-school class.
